Tourists may visit the Basilica of San Lorenzo by purchasing an admission ticket. The Basilica is open every weekday from 10:00am until 5:00pm, with entrance through the large door to the left of the church facade. Nevertheless, the parishioners who enter between 7:00am and 6:00pm, may enter free of charge through the small door on the right side of the church, side of the Canto de’ Nelli, in an area reserved for them. The area is internally divided and corresponds to the chapel and altar of the SS. Sacramento. Here the parishioner will find Bibles available as well as the indicated readings that the liturgical calendar suggests day by day. On Sundays, holidays, and during Mass on weekdays, the Basilica is closed to tourists. Entrance is allowed only to parishioners, through the large door on the right of the facade.
