The Laurentian Complex, under the guardianship of the Opera Medicea Laurenziana, is composed of the Basilica of San Lorenzo, the Old Sacristy, and the adjoining monuments (the cloisters with their neighboring premises and the crypts), the Laurentian Medici Library, and the Museum of the Medici Chapels (with diverse entrances). The Museum includes the Medici family burial crypt, the Chapel of the Princes, and the New Sacristy.
Here illustrated are the map of the ground floor that represents the entire Complex, as well as that of the underground floor. This represents instead only premises and underground walkways pertinent to the Parish. What are not included are the plans for the upper story, of which the only accessible areas to be visited are the Vestibule of the Laurentian Library and the monumental Reading Room on the second floor, with display rooms open only on the occasion of special exhibits.
